Anna Kołodziej – Folk Violinist & Nyckelharpa Player
Anna Kołodziej is a Polish folk musician, violinist, nyckelharpa player, and vocalist based in Lublin. She specializes in traditional music from Poland, Ukraine, the Lemko region, and Sweden. Her primary instruments are the violin and the nyckelharpa – a Swedish keyed fiddle, which has become her musical signature.
For over two decades, Anna has performed with renowned folk ensembles, most notably Orkiestra św. Mikołaja and Odpust Zupełny. Her repertoire includes emigrant ballads, dances, and ritual songs, often sung in Polish, Lemko, and Ukrainian. She has performed at numerous concerts and festivals across Europe, as well as in Malaysia.
Anna holds a Master’s degree in Music Education and postgraduate diplomas in special education, autism support, and ICT. In addition to performing, she works as a music therapist and teacher, supporting children with special needs through music.
Her mission is to connect people through traditional sounds and to promote the nyckelharpa, an instrument close to her heart. Anna is dedicated to continuing her work as a performer, educator, and therapist, sharing her love for folk music and heartfelt expression.
