Ūla Paliokaitė - kankles

Ūla Paliokaitė, a student of the Department of Folk Instruments at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, is an active musician who is constantly striving to improve her skills and to share her knowledge and experience. She became a laureate of the 17th and 18th National Balys Dvarionas Piano and String Competition in 2012 and 2014 and won the award for the best performance of a contemporary work by a Lithuanian composer, a laureate of the X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV and XV National Jonas Švedas Competitions, the winner of numerous other international and national competitions. Ūla Paliokaitė has been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda for her excellent performances in international music competitions and for promoting the name of Lithuania.

She also participated in various performances and always love to work with other countries musicians. Ūla Paliokaitė also studied in Austria, Linz, Anton Bruckner Private University with Erasmus programm for half year and already had performances in Brucknerhaus, Vienna Modern and another Linz universities. This year Ūla became 2nd place winner of the latest Jonas Švedas Competition and now she is looking forward for new musical journeys.
